Feeling Blue? Try These 5 Things And Feel Happy Instead

Feeling Blue

It is very normal if you are feeling blue from time to time. Let’s face the truth, no one is perfect!  Life is not always going according to our plan!

Most of us at some time will go through a season in life that feels like a downward spiral. Or perhaps we get to the point when we want to completely give up on everything in our life all at once because we are too burned out to care anymore. And this may be due to various different reasons. Sometimes we may find that relief is too far out of our grasp, or our current situation to be hopeless. What can you do if you find yourself feeling blue, and you’re so frustrated and in a dark place that you want to give up on everything?

So, here is what you can do:

1. Ask for help

If there are some chores you normally do at home ask a family member to do them for you. Sometimes, chores around the house can physically and mentally drain your energy if you have a busy lifestyle. Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak! It’s rather opposite – it means you’re strong enough to realize you can’t do it all on your own.

2. Prioritize

Yes! Prioritize what it important in your life before you get to total burn out. Back out of things that are contributing to your stress, of course, if you can. You will only let down people if you show up to volunteer for a task and then can’t give 100% of you.

3. Give Yourself a Break

Sometimes when you are feeling blue, don’t do anything at all. Just lie in bed, relax and rest all day. Try not to think about anything that is currently a source of stress and anxiety for you. And be sure to get plenty of sleep during this time!

4. Create Energy

Create more energy for yourself if you want to be happy and successful. Try with physical activities. First, you have to expend energy and you’ll get more energy in return. It’s like investing into a really good deal that doubles your money. Physical fitness has the benefits to overwhelm and combat stress! So, people often make mistakes by skipping out on exercise as soon as stress hits them. The best time for creating this energy through exercise is within your first few waking hours. Just 15 minutes a day can improve your energy, mood, stress levels, and health in general.

5. Start Over

After you have relaxed and created energy maybe you have also decided what are your priorities. Once your mindset is refreshed it is important to recognize it as a fresh new start. Try something new and improved. At this time your passion for life should come back to you.

6. Get Professional Help

Usually, this feeling blue passes, but if it persists for longer than a couple of weeks, starts to interfere with day-to-day life, or keeps on coming back you could be suffering from depression. But you don’t have to suffer in silence.

Sometimes we get so stuck in our own perspective of how life is that we don’t recognize what is really important.

If you feel like there is no hope left and you’ve tried everything, seek professional help. Counselors, therapists, life coaches, health coaches, psychologists, and psychiatrists can assist you in getting you back on the right track. You must know that you aren’t alone!
